Several tourist attractions are just a few minutes' walking distance from our apartment, including the magnificent New York Café (photo above), the State Opera on Andrassy Boulevard, the ultimate meeting point Oktogon and Liszt Ferenc Square (hosting dozen great restaurants and cafes).

At the end of famous Andrassy Boulevard "the Champs Elysées of Budapest" you will find Heroes Square (Hősök tere), The City Park (Városliget) with the zoo, Széchenyi fürdő thermal baths, a must for any visitor to Budapest, both the Museum of Fine Arts and House of Terror Museum. All are in walking distance from the apartment.

Generally speaking. Budapest districts 6 and 7 are considered as a main area for locals and visitors alike for an evening out, whether your interest lies in the opera and the arts, live jazz and blues music, a simple evening in a café or restaurant or a nightclub.

Restaurants

Liszt Ferenc Square (10 min. walk from the apartment) is a pedestrian area in downtown Budapest, and is a popular going out area. Here you'll find a wide array of indoor and outdoor restaurants an cafes. They will serve you cheaper than for example Belcanto and Gundel, still the quality is high and the atmosphere is good. Especially in the summer, because then they all move their tables and chairs out to the square, and from early morning to late night, the street is full of life and people drinking, eating and having fun.
